A friendly (or not so friendly) reminder that data deserves more than a pie chart. It deserves integration, time and effort to link it to wider business objectives.
I’m finding the same data use barriers in my research with business leaders. The majority of data is silo’d and when data is available, there isn’t a clear link between the data and the business. This means that a lot of knowledge and competitive advantage is being left on the kitchen table. Lots more work to do in this area.
